Table ronde #8 : Femmes et migrations

Introduction :
Charlotte Recoquillon, Désinfox Migrations
Hélène Thiollet, CNRS CERI Sciences Po, projet PACE

Intervenantes :

The Changing Nature and Purpose of the Doctorate.

Sumary :

Doctorate level attainment has been growing fast in developed economies. The OECD average share of 25-64 year-olds with a doctorate is around 1%, but the share has been increasing fast, and if current trends continue, 2.3% of today’s young adults will enter doctoral studies at some point in their life. This paper reflects on the causes of this growth and its consequences for the nature and purpose of the doctorate.
