Governing migration as 'crisis': The case of Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey

Through a focus on three case studies, Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey, this webinar explores the ways in which 'migration governance' has been shaped by a 'crisis' imaginary. We will explore the extent to which this imaginary has led to the mobilisation of new actor constellations including private security companies, humanitarian organisations, international organisations and migrants and how these actors produce different forms of governmental practices.

Chair:
Shoshana Fine, MAGYC postdoctoral researcher (CERI/University of Liège/German Institute for Global and Area Studies)

Panelists:
Gerasimos Tsourapas, Senior Lecturer in Middle East Politics, University of Birmingham
Meltem Muftuler-Bac, Professor of International Relations and Jean Monnet Chair, Sabanci University
Tamirace Fakhoury, Associate Professor of Political Science and International Affairs, Lebanese American University
