First cohort graduates from the Dual BA programme with the University of British Columbia

The graduation ceremony took place on 24 May 2017 at the UBC Vancouver campus in Canada. This year’s graduating class, composed of 12 different nationalities, was congratulated by the Consul General of France, a Sciences Po alumnus, who presented each graduate with their Sciences Po diploma. Praising the students’ achievements, he noted the special relationship between Canada and France, now embodied in the graduating cohort.

Graduates were also congratulated by the UBC Faculty of Arts Acting Dean Dr. Kathryn Harrison who highlighted the programme’s unique curriculum, opportunities to learn as a cohort, and preparation of graduating students to be global citizens of the future.

Two years in France, two years in Canada, two Bachelor's degrees

The UBC Sciences Po Dual Bachelor’s degree offers students the opportunity to study at two world-renowned universities, the first programme of its kind in Canada. Students complete their first two years at one of the Sciences Po campuses in France, each focusing on a different geographical area (Asia at the Le Havre campus, North America or Africa at the Reims campus or the Middle East at the Menton campus) and spend their two final years at UBC’s Vancouver campus where they join over 13,000 other students in the Faculty of Arts, have the opportunity to engage with UBC’s research-intensive culture, and specialise in courses across the social sciences, humanities, creative and performing arts.
