Requesting funding for your project
Sciences Po offers two levels of funding to support the development of student-led projects. One for the day-to-day running of recognised student associations and initiatives, and another open to the wider student community as a whole, for projects offering a greater impact.
Funding reserved for recognised student associations and student initiatives for day-to-day operations
The Student association fund can enable recognised student associations and student initiatives to benefit from grants of up to 500 euros (art. 28-II – Student Life regulations).
This fund aims to encourage the development of events and activities on campus and to enable associations to meet their obligations in terms of insurance, distribution fees, etc.
For other, larger-scale events, funding applications may be made to the Student Life & Education Committee (“Conseil de la vie étudiante et de la formation”) - see below.
The associations receiving these grants undertake to provide an activity report and a financial review within six months of the project’s completion.
Applications can be made throughout the year by submitting a completed grant application file (Word file in French, 53 Ko) to your campus contact, including all relevant paperwork and receipts.

Funding for student projects
The Conseil de la vie étudiante et de la formation, following examination and advice by the Student Life Commission, can award funds to student associations for projects in such fields as culture, knowledge, sport, the environment, solidarity, health, civic engagement and the fight against discrimination.
Partisan or religious projects are not eligible. Grants awarded cannot be used to finance the day-to-day operations of an association.
Project leaders should request a grant application file by email from Sébastien Thubert indicating briefly the object and amount requested.
N.B. Application files should be completed before the deadline for each Student Life Commission (CVE).
Please note that:
- Funds awarded can only partially cover the global budget of the project submitted.
- An activity report and a financial review must be provided within 6 months of the project’s completion.
- In the case of failure to complete the project, the association undertakes to reimburse the sums received or in proportion to the degree of completion.
The Student Life Commission (examination of submissions) and the Conseil de la vie étudiante et de la formation (decisions) are due to meet on the following dates.
