Use

Eduroam (Education Roaming) is a platform allowing access to the internet via secured Wi-Fi connection to staff members and students belonging to teaching and research institutions, during their visits on other premises of the network, in France but also abroad.

Sciences Po gives the opportunity to users that are members of the Eduroam network to use a secured and authenticated Wi-Fi connection by using their usual login.

Staff members, teachers, researchers and Sciences Po students, can enjoy secured Wi-Fi access while on campus and when traveling  in France and abroad within the Eduroam network.

Access conditions

The user must have a Sciences Po account.

  • One must be in an area covered by the Eduroam network. Parisian campuses have network access as of December 8, 2015. For all other campuses, access in the beginning of 2016.
  • All computers and mobile devices must have a wireless network card following at least one of the norms: 802.11 b, g, n (2,4 Ghz) or a, n (5 Ghz). Concerning the 802.1x protocol most devices already follow these standards.
  • The operating system (Windows, MacOS, Linux...) should be up to date in order to correct security vulnerabilities
  • In addition an anti-virus should be installed and up to date.
  • In order to configure your computer with the correct security and authentication parameters please use the automatic configuration tool (language switching possible)
  • Afterwards the wireless network Eduroam should appear in the list of available wireless networks.

Access

Select the Eduroam network from your wireless network list.
Sign on and get access by using your everyday login and password, firstname.lastname@sciencespo.fr
