International Partnerships
Partnerships with international leading institutions take an ever more important role in the strengthening of research at Sciences Po. They enable scientific cooperation and mobility between teachers/researchers and PhD students of the partner institutions.
Oxford - Sciences Po Research Group / OXPO
OXPO brings together two of the foremost universities in the world in the field of social sciences. It is a meeting point for scholars at both institutions with the objective of fostering and stimulating joint scientific projects. It provides a platform for the comparative analysis of the evolution of political systems and societies, in Europe and beyond. The group coordinates comparative research projects that contribute toward this goal and it facilitates academic and student exchanges between the two universities.
Cambridge - Sciences Po Research Cooperation Agreement
The cooperation framework aims to develop research links in disciplines such as politics, history and public policy, with a strong expectation that the collaboration will develop to include other areas of mutual interest. The signing ceremony held at Sciences Po in Paris on Friday marked the beginning of the initial three-year term of the agreement.

Sciences Po - London School of Economics (LSE) mobility
The London School of Economics (LSE) and Sciences Po have set up an annual faculty exchange programme: the LSE - Sciences Po Faculty Mobility Scheme (PDF, 117kb). This programme facilitates faculty exchanges and strengthens the links between the Sciences Po and LSE academic communities.
The Center for European Studies (Harvard) visiting scholars programme
Each year, the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies is pleased to welcome several visiting scholars from the United States and abroad. The Center accepts post-doctoral social scientists and historians working on modern Europe.

Sciences Po - Princeton University research grant
The Sciences Po/Princeton Collaborative Grants program is designed to provide “seed-corn” support for interactions between researchers at both institutions to build the basis for new research and teaching initiatives and proposals for external funding.

Sciences Po-Northwestern University visiting professors programme
Northwestern University and Sciences Po have been engaged in intensive and productive scientific collaboration for the past 15 years. The French Interdisciplinary Group (FIG) at Northwestern and Sciences Po have established both a faculty exchange programme and a dual PhD programme.

Fund for Joint Research El Colegio de Mexico - Sciences Po
In March 2009, a general agreement was signed between the Deans of Sciences Po and El Colegio de México. One of the outcomes was to create a Fund for Joint Research. Eligible items for funding are: joint seminars and publication of research outcomes, both in Mexico and France. Activities are to be programmed on an annual base.

Alliance
Created in 2002 and based in New York, Alliance is a partnership between three French institutions – Sciences Po, the École Polytechnique, and the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne – and Columbia University. In addition to encouraging joint-teaching ventures and double-degree programs, Alliance offers multiple opportunities for developing collaborative research between Sciences Po and Columbia—notably, a Doctoral Mobility Grant and Visiting Professorships, as well as financial support for innovative projects. Alliance grants are open to applicants from all fields of study and reward interdisciplinary initiatives.

Cooperation with the Max Planck Institute
Sciences Po and the Max Planck Institute have a close scientific relationship. The two institutions offer a joint doctoral programme, junior and senior researchers mobility schemes, intensive course-seminars and a Summer school co-organized every two years together with Columbia University, the European University Institute and Northwestern University. Regular seminars also allow the two faculty members to debate, share their work and collaborate on a regular basis.

Doctoral exchange program
Sciences Po’s Doctoral School and its Center for the Americas have developed a grant for doctorate and post-doctorate students wishing to pursue research under an exchange programme with the United States. Through this programme, our students are sent every year to the great social science research centers of our North American partner universities, while we welcome their students in turn. The program includes eight renowned universities: the University of California, Berkeley; the University of Chicago; Columbia University; Harvard University, the University of Wisconsin-Madison; Princeton University, Tufts University.
Visiting Chairs
In order to facilitate faculty mobility and academic cooperation throughout Europe, Sciences Po has built two chairs the Vincent Wright and Alfred Grosser Chairs. They bring European researchers to Sciences Po and encourage comparative research on European themes.
- The Vincent Wright Chair hosts a visiting scholar from a British university at Sciences Po.
- The Alfred Grosser Chair hosts two visiting scholars from German universities at Sciences Po.
The Kuwait Program at Sciences Po / KSP
The Kuwait Program at Sciences Po (KSP) is a partnership between Sciences Po and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS).
Working together, the two institutions are supporting a range of initiatives in the fields of research, teaching, executive education and academic events, with special emphasis on the study of the Arab World and the Gulf Region.

Japan: student and faculty mobility
Thanks to cooperation agreements with Waseda and Keio universities in Japan, Sciences Po hosts a visiting scholar from each of these institutions for a month each year. Reciprocally, Sciences Po sends 2 scholars to Japan for the same amount of time each year.
