The LIEPP - Interdisciplinary Research Center for the Evaluation of Public Policies

The LIEPP (Interdisciplinary Research Center for the Evaluation of Public Policies) is a high quality research laboratory (Labex) selected by an international scientific jury designated by the French National Research Agency (ANR). The LIEPP is financed in the framework of future investments for the next 10 years, beginning in 2011. Its primary objective is to study and evaluate public policies in a resolutely interdisciplinary framework. The project brings together more than fifty researchers from Sciences Po, which belong to four research units of Sciences Po: the Centre d'études européennes (CEE), the Centre for Sociology of Organizations (CSO), the Department of Economics and the Center for Studies in Social Change (OSC) as well as researchers in Law and History. Some scholars from other universities are also involved and the LIEPP benefits from the programs of international cooperation of its founding research centers.

The Equipex Infrastructure Data and Survey Methods in Human and Social Sciences - DIME-SHS

Sciences Po’s Equipex project – code named “DIME-SHS” – focuses on the collection, processing and analysis of data in the social sciences. It aims to propel the social and human sciences in France by significantly advancing methods of investigation. Its originality lies in its use of the internet and, more generally, information and communications technology, thanks to Sciences Po's CDSP (Centre for Political Data) and médialab, to achieve progress in three key aspects of social and human science research protocols: data collection; storage and distribution of qualitative investigations; and tools to analyse the web as a data source in its own right. Laurent Lesnard leads the project’s network of research teams from Sciences Po and the following institutions: the Group of National Schools of Economics and Statistics (GENES), the National Institute of Demographic Studies (INED), Télécom ParisTech, EDF R&D and the Quetelet network.

Max Planck Sciences Po Center on Coping with Instability in Market Societies - MaxPo

The MaxPo was jointly established by Sciences Po Paris and the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies Cologne in 2012. The Center's research concentrates on investigating how individuals, organizations and politics are coping with the increased instability that has developed in Western societies during the last forty years. How does a society organize when instabilities of social, political and economic relations increase as a result of liberalization policies and cultural shifts?
