Internship - Google - Financial Analyst

This position is based in Paris, France.

Whether designing processes to support our global businesses, providing forward-thinking analysis or managing our day-to-day balance sheets, our seasoned accounting and finance pros create innovative solutions to a googol of challenges and keep our business on track.

The role: Financial Analyst Intern, Sales

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. Our team of Financial Analysts foster the financial health of our organization by partnering closely with our various functions, tracking performance metrics and creating financial models. Our Financial Analysts are up to date with the latest economic trends and apply knowledge around rates of return, depreciations, working capital requirements and investment performance to the projects at hand. As a Financial Analyst, you are called upon to build complex scenarios analyses that serve as the basis for recommendations that leaders of the business draw from to make critical strategic decisions. A master juggler working on multiple projects at a time, you maintain a consistently high level of attention to detail while finding creative ways to tackle financial challenges.

With your analytics and financial savvy, you'll liaise between the Finance team with the functional areas it supports. You resolve issues related to forecasting, planning, resource prioritization and business profitability, and you help translate analyses into easy-to-understand presentations. Internships is available from July - December 2012.

Responsibilities:

  • Scale and automate reporting and planning tools (revenue, productivity)
  • Execute sophisticated modeling that translates data into actionable insights
  • Partner with internal Customers to prepare quarterly and annual forecasts
  • Act as a liaison between the Finance teams and Sales/Ops teams, assisting with range of operating issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Superior Excel financial modeling skills; proficient PowerPoint skills
  • Strong database experience including proficiency in SQL coding across standard relational environments (e.g Oracle, Teradata, MS Access, etc.), as well as superior MS Office (in particular Excel) skills.
  • Distinctive problem solving and analysis skills, combined with impeccable business judgment, leadership skills, and ability to communicate with a senior management team
  • Ability to navigate through various levels of detail, demonstrating flexibility to dive into details as well as think big picture.
  • Team player that is creative and detailed oriented.
