To support its development policy and achieve the goals of the "Sciences Po 2013" strategic plan, Sciences Po actively seeks to establish partnerships with public institutions, in France and elsewhere in the world, in areas as varied as training, research, funding of bursaries for French and international students, housing and student life.

Numerous public institutions (including government ministries and agencies, local authorities and international organisations) have become partners, contributing to the furtherance of Sciences Po's development initiatives in France, whether by means of calls for projects, direct subsidies or award of public contracts (research contracts).

For instance, the six undergraduate campuses created by Sciences Po outside Paris since 2001 are generously supported by the local authorities (municipalities, metropolitan communities, county councils and regional councils.

Lastly, in the framework of its international development strategy, Sciences Po is increasingly establishing partnerships with international public institutions, starting with the European Commission (notably in the area of student mobility and support for research), foreign governments (bursaries, chairs for visiting professors), international organisations (UN, UNESCO, World Bank, etc.) and also with major international foundations.
