Pressured by his family to enrol in the school, he promptly fled the diplomatic career mapped out for him and set out on the path to an illustrious future in fashion. As the Dior exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris continues, we look back at an alumnus whose avant-garde vision has withstood the tests of time and of fashion.
