Today, more than ever, the task of transmitting knowledge and training future elites requires new sources of funding. Sciences Po supplements the income from tuition fees with resources provided by the public authorities, business organisations, donors and foundations and income from services offered by the school.
To achieve the different objectives set forth in the Sciences Po 2013 project, we are continuing to structure and expand this search for outside funding.
Resources from corporate sponsorship and partnerships rose substantially between 2003 and 2010 and continue to grow sharply today thanks to new partnerships with the business world.
Since 2007, Sciences Po has also appealed to its alumni through fund-raising campaigns launched in France, the United Kingdom and the USA. The goal is to raise €25 million by 2013 to fund three priorities: research, development of assets, and supporting talented and deserving students.
The State has been the major source of funding for Sciences Po since 1945. Many public players (government ministries, agencies, local authorities) are also partners of Sciences Po. Lastly, Sciences Po is increasingly establishing partnerships with international public institutions (European Commission, foreign governments, international organizations).
To achieve our objectives for the 2009-2013 period, we are planning to increase resources other than tuition fees by 65%.
