Sciences Po is proud to be one of the six founding members of the Paris Peace Forum, a global platform for governance projects spearheaded by President Emmanuel Macron (FR). The first ever edition will take place this 11-13 of November, and is to become an annual international event promoting governance solutions in five key areas: peace and security, environment, development, new technologies, and inclusive economy. 

Inspired by the COP 21 model, the Paris Peace Forum will be a forum for discussion and debate, but also a space for showcasing projects led by various stakeholders in governance, including international organisations, NGOs, think tanks, universities, companies and individuals.with special emphasis on civil society initiatives.

Call for Applications

Sciences Po and the Paris Peace Forum teams are seeking students passionate about new technologies and data transparency to participate in the Paris Peace Forum hackathon that will take place on 11-13 November 2018 at La Grande Halle de La Villette.

As part of the Forum to be held from 11 to 13 November 2018, a “Space for Innovation” will host for three days the first Paris Peace Forum hackathon. This innovative and engaging format will enable governance experts, engineers, programmers and designers to contribute to the success of the Paris Peace Forum by developing prototypes and unprecedented digital solutions.

For the first edition, participants will work uninterruptedly for three days to develop disruptive solutions in the field of financial data transparency, alongside world experts, animators and mentors.

Selected students will work side by side with developers, designers, researchers, policy makers, startups and doers, to use digital tools and open data sets to come up with innovative and universal solutions for transparency in public expenditures.

More precisely, the hackathon participants will work on digital prototypes solving challenges related to the transparency of financial data in the following areas:

> Budgets of international organizations

> Budget of major international events

> Public procurement procedures

> Communication of financial data to the public
