Congratulations on the beginning of the new academic year!
A word from Pierre FRANÇOIS, Dean of the Doctoral School
You are starting this year as a Masters or PhD student at Sciences Po’s Doctoral School and I congratulate you for this. You have made an excellent choice in joining a model Doctoral School that brings together the humanities and social sciences into a single whole.
Sciences Po is well known for transmitting knowledge, developing the ability to speak up, and offering multidisciplinary intellectual training that fosters a sense of responsibility. The institution’s reputation also owes a lot to its international orientation.
Sciences Po is distinguished by its Doctoral School, which works together with seven mixed research units (UMR) associated with the CNRS, three hosting team units (EA) recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, and three major crosscutting programs: the LIEPP, DIMESHS and MaxPo. This unique and prestigious group brings together places producing new approaches and new knowledge in law, economics, history, political science and sociology, presenting you with many opportunities to learn and conduct your research in the best conditions.
The Masters in research and the PhD are ambitious programs and you will have the best support to accomplish them. In addition to pedagogical support of excellent quality, Sciences Po’s Doctoral School offers students admitted to its PhD program funding to allow them to pursue their thesis in the best conditions.
The Doctoral School’s team intends to stay on this path, cultivate excellence in research and teaching and continuously improve academic and mentoring services. It will continue to develop multidisciplinary dialog, international mobility for students and junior researchers, excellent international partnerships in France and abroad and the professional integration of graduates and junior doctors. The whole Doctoral School team joins me in wishing you a good start of the year and a happy and successful education among us.
