First European seminar on cross border territories

First European seminar on cross border territories

Themes : Ouvrages

Date : 20 Nov 2012

The DATAR, the Mission Opérationnelle Transfrontalière (MOT) and the National Federation of the Public Urban Planning Agencies (FNAU) are organizing, in partnership with the “Grand Nancy”, the first European seminar on observation of cross-border territories, 10 December 2012 in Nancy (France).

This event is part of a long-term process initiated by the MOT since its establishment, with the DATAR, the FNAU
and the urban planning agencies located on the French borders.
The objectives of the seminar are:
- To present the work carried out by the partners on this complex topic.
- To show why this observation is essential for an effective policy development of cross border territories.
- To address this issue not only in a quantitative but also qualitative and statistical way, to contend wrong visions about cross-border territories.

Illustrated by local approaches and examples, the seminar will be an opportunity for a debate about the expectations of local stakeholders representative of cross-border territories.
It will stress the role of observation for public policies, and aspects related to the use of the produced results.

The event will also be a time to exchange on the role of public authorities (States, statistical institutes, European institutions) and their coordination to enable the development of a true quantitative and qualitative observation at the borders.

If you want to participate to this event, we thank you to already book on the website http://seminaire-observation-transfrontaliere.mot.fnau.org/ before the 23rd of November 2013. A email will be sent to confirm your registration.
